Preston first met John Travolta in 1987 while filming The Experts. The pair married in 1991. Both came on board of Air-France flight Concorde in September 1991 before their wedding at Hotel de Crillon, Paris, close to Place de la Concorde. Two ceremonies had to be conducted because the first, performed in Paris on September 5, 1991 by a French Scientologist minister (both Preston and Travolta are Scientologists), was legally invalid. The second ceremony took place a week later, on September 12, in Daytona Beach, Florida. The couple had a son named Jett, born on April 13, 1992, and have a daughter named Ella Bleu, born in 2000. On May 18, 2010, Travolta and Preston announced that she is pregnant with the couple’s third child, later confirmed to be a boy. Their son, Jett, died on January 2, 2009 while on their holiday in The Bahamas. The cause of death was attributed to a seizure. Jett reportedly suffered from Kawasaki disease in early childhood and had a history of seizures. Long a source of speculation, in September 2009, Travolta and Preston testified that their son had autism and suffered regular seizures. Their revelation occurred as part of testimony he gave at a trial which resulted after an extortion attempt related to their son’s death. Constructed from 1969 to 1972, it is the tallest skyscraper in France and the ninth tallest building in the European Union. In the future, it may be surpassed in height by the Tour AXA (231 metres / 758 feet), and later by Tour Phare and Tour Generali (approximately 300 metres / 980 feet).
